Books can be entertaining, fun or challenging. But the best thing about books, is that we can learn a lot from them, so we don't have to make the same mistakes others have done before us.
This really works within all aspects of life. Are you experiencing that your dates are turning you down one after the other? Pick up a copy of the book The Game by Neil Strauss and learn how to be a ladies man. Do you feel lazy and not very confident? Read a biography about Winston Churchill to learn about greatness, persistence and never giving up. Or if you feel overweight or your body just doesn't look like it's supposed to. Buy the book the 4 Hour Body to learn how to lose weight or gain muscle very fast. Like to quit your job and go traveling? Read the book Vagabonding: An uncommon guide to the art of long term world travel by Rolf Potts.
Learn to read the right books
A lot of people hate reading books, because they think they have to read a story or some kind of thriller. But why not read a book about a topic of your interest and actually learn something from it? If we read books about a topic of our interest instead of a story, we tend to swallow that book in a couple of days.
You might not feel that you learn a lot by reading one book, but if you read a book per week and learn one thing, that is 52 possible life changing things you have learned in a year.
Studies have shown that when we watch TV, our brains are just as active as when we are sleeping. While reading books our brains are very active because we have to imagine the things we read about. So reading is an excellent way to train our brains and keep it fresh.
Educate yourself
If you would like to have an education but don't have the time or the money to attend school, why not buy the books you need on Amazon or find the books on your local library? Of course you have nothing to show on your resume, but if you write a job application, you can inform the employer that you have read all books about a subject that is relevant for that job position.
Read books for education, improving your fantasy, creativity, personal growth and personal entertainment.
